Your Safety Matters
How NissMatch protects you and guidelines for staying safe
At NissMatch, your safety is our highest priority. We have built our platform with multiple layers of protection, but online safety is a shared responsibility. This page explains the measures we take to protect you and the steps you can take to protect yourself.
1. How NissMatch Protects You
ID Verification
Every member must verify their identity through Veriff using a government-issued ID and real-time selfie. This ensures you interact with real, verified individuals.
Photo Moderation
All profile photos are reviewed to ensure they are authentic, appropriate, and recent. We remove misleading or inappropriate images.
Encrypted Messages
All conversations are encrypted in transit and at rest. Your private messages stay private.
Block and Report
Instantly block any member to prevent further contact. Report inappropriate behavior and our moderation team will investigate within 24 hours.
- Automated Detection: Our systems monitor for suspicious activity patterns, including rapid messaging, financial solicitation, and fake profile indicators.
- Human Moderation: Our dedicated safety team reviews reports and proactively monitors the platform for policy violations.
- Data Isolation: Row-level security ensures your data is strictly separated from other tenants and accessible only to authorized parties.
- Curated Matching: Unlike dating apps, our curated approach limits exposure. You interact only with carefully selected, compatible matches.
2. Safety Tips for Meeting Matches
Before Meeting In Person
- Take your time. Get to know your match through the platform before sharing personal contact information or meeting in person. There is no rush.
- Use our messaging system. Keep conversations on NissMatch until you feel comfortable. Our messaging system protects your phone number and personal details.
- Video call first. Before meeting in person, arrange a video call to confirm your match looks like their photos and to build comfort.
- Research independently. It is reasonable to search for your match's name online or ask mutual connections. Trust but verify.
- Tell someone you trust. Let a family member or close friend know about your match and your plans. Share your match's profile details with them.
During Your First Meeting
- Meet in a public place. Choose a well-lit, busy location such as a restaurant, cafe, or shopping center. Never meet at a private residence for the first time.
- Arrange your own transportation. Drive yourself, use rideshare, or take public transport. Do not depend on your match for transportation.
- Share your location. Use your phone's location-sharing feature to let a trusted person know where you are in real time.
- Stay sober. Keep a clear head during your first meeting so you can make sound judgments.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, leave. You do not owe anyone an explanation for prioritizing your safety.
- Have a safety check-in. Arrange for a friend or family member to call you at a specific time during the meeting as a safety check.
Family Involvement
At NissMatch, we understand that family involvement is important in many cultures, especially in the marriage process. We encourage:
- Involving your family when you feel ready and comfortable.
- Meeting in family settings when both parties agree.
- Being transparent about your family's involvement expectations in your profile.
- Respecting your match's preferences regarding family involvement pace and level.
3. Red Flags to Watch For
Be cautious if a match exhibits any of the following behaviors:
Financial Requests
Asks for money, financial assistance, investment opportunities, or your financial information. Legitimate matches will never ask you for money, regardless of the reason or emergency they describe.
Rushed Intimacy
Declares love or commitment unusually quickly, pressures you for personal information, or tries to move the relationship forward faster than you are comfortable with.
Avoidance of Verification
Refuses to video call, avoids meeting in public, or makes excuses about why they cannot verify their identity or appear as they do in their photos.
Inconsistent Stories
Provides conflicting details about their life, background, occupation, or family. Changes significant details over time or cannot answer basic questions about information they previously shared.
Isolation Tactics
Tries to isolate you from friends and family, discourages you from telling others about the relationship, or insists on keeping everything private.
Controlling Behavior
Attempts to control who you talk to, monitors your activity, gets angry about response times, or guilt-trips you for having boundaries.
If you notice any of these red flags, trust your instincts. Stop communication and report the member immediately. It is always better to be cautious than to put yourself at risk.
4. How to Report Abuse
If you experience or witness any behavior that violates our community standards or makes you feel unsafe, report it immediately. We take every report seriously.
In-App Reporting
The fastest way to report. Tap the three-dot menu on any profile or conversation and select "Report." Choose the reason for your report and provide any additional details.
Response time: within 24 hours
Send detailed reports to safety@nissmatch.company. Include the member's name, screenshots if available, and a description of the incident.
Response time: within 24 hours

Urgent reports are prioritized immediately
When you report a member, the report is handled confidentially. The reported member will not know who filed the report. Our moderation team may take actions including issuing warnings, temporarily suspending the account, or permanently banning the member.
